Introduction
The
TR 8: 2003 Quality Management for Bunker Supply Chain (QMBS) system
is a quality management system which aims to safeguard the quality
of bunkers throughout the entire supply chain. It will form part
of the accreditation scheme
for bunker suppliers.
Objectives
of TR 8: 2003 QMBS
By
31 May 2005, all licensed bunker suppliers must satisfy accreditation
criteria. TR 8: 2003 will form part of the accreditation scheme
for bunker suppliers. The objectives include:

To deter malpractice in the bunkering industry

To provide benchmarks for the bunker supply chain management

To ensure that bunker quality supplied to ships in Singapore conform
to

than ISO 8217 standard
Essentially,
all licensed bunker suppliers must satisfy the following:

Minimum paid-up capital of S$200,000

Have TR 8: 2003 QMBS in place
