Introduction

The TR 8: 2003 Quality Management for Bunker Supply Chain (QMBS) system is a quality management system which aims to safeguard the quality of bunkers throughout the entire supply chain. It will form part of the accreditation scheme for bunker suppliers.

Objectives of TR 8: 2003 QMBS

By 31 May 2005, all licensed bunker suppliers must satisfy accreditation criteria. TR 8: 2003 will form part of the accreditation scheme for bunker suppliers. The objectives include:

- To deter malpractice in the bunkering industry
- To provide benchmarks for the bunker supply chain management
- To ensure that bunker quality supplied to ships in Singapore conform to

or is better than ISO 8217 standard

Essentially, all licensed bunker suppliers must satisfy the following:

1. Minimum paid-up capital of S$200,000
2. Have TR 8: 2003 QMBS in place
3. A set of Key Performance Indicators
